Head-on Collision Involving 3 Vehicles Kills 2, Injures 3
According to FOX7, a tragic head-on collision that occurred on a Saturday afternoon earlier this month left two dead and sent three others to the hospital. The accident occurred on Research Boulevard in Austin, when a vehicle heading north crossed over the centerline into oncoming traffic.
The car collided with two other vehicles in the 9500 block of Research Boulevard. Responders arrived to find that two individuals who had been involved had already died at the scene.
According to police, both victims who sustained fatal injuries had been riding in one of the vehicles that was originally heading south. One fatality was a woman in her thirties, and the other was a minor male.
There was also an adult male and a minor female in the vehicle with them. Responders transported them both to local hospitals, where they remain in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle that crossed over the centerline was also in critical condition following the incident and required hospitalization. A sixth individual, who had been riding in the second southbound vehicle that was struck, did not report any injuries.
The underlying cause of the collision remains under investigation. The Austin Police Department has asked anyone who might have information regarding the accident to call their Vehicle Homicide Unit.

How Long Do You Have to File a Wrongful Death Claim Following a Car Accident?
If you lose a family member in a motor vehicle collision that was someone else’s fault, you deserve closure, and filing a wrongful death claim can help you achieve it; however, you only have a certain amount of time in which to pursue a lawsuit.
In the state of Texas, the statute of limitations for wrongful death claims is typically two years from the date of death. This may seem like a long time, but 24 months can fly by when you are recovering from the loss of a loved one, especially if disputes arise during the probate process.
As a result, it is worth talking to an accident lawyer as soon as you feel up to it. After all, the sooner you consult with an attorney and file a claim, the sooner you will be able to cover the damages left in the wake of the accident.
