Massive Crash Involving 5 Semi-Trucks Results in 2 Fatalities

According to KGNS, a massive truck collision involving five tractor-trailers resulted in the death of two individuals earlier this month. The crash happened on I-20 near Longview at roughly 4 a.m. on a Thursday.

In preliminary reports, police revealed that four semi-trucks were stopped in the westbound lanes on I-20 because of a prior crash. A fifth tractor-trailer approaching the stopped traffic failed to decelerate in time and ultimately caused a subsequent accident involving all five trucks.

Responders pronounced the driver and passenger in the fifth vehicle dead at the scene. The underlying cause of the collision remains under investigation.
